Google announced Thursday that changes in its search algorithms to fix a search procedure called “Google bombing.” On its official blog, Google said that the query “miserable failure” will never be routed to the official White House biography of president, George W. Bush. Under the changes, such queries will revert as “commentary, discussions and articles” on the subject.
Matt Cutts, Google’s official webmaster, wrote in the blog that by putting new algorithm in place, “Google bombing” will be minimized. He also disputed the misconceptions that these are Google’s opinions or that Google has hand-coded the results of the queries. He said, further, that “Google bombing” is not on the priority list of Google.
George Johnston, a Washington-based political activist and programmer, was responsible for “Miserable failure” believing that people showed keen interest on it after the Hurricane Katrina debacle.
